Okyeame Kwame’s Feed Ghana Ambassador Role Is Voluntary — Agriculture Ministry Clarifies

The Ministry of Food and Agriculture has clarified that the appointment of celebrated Ghanaian musician Okyeame Kwame as an ambassador for the Feed Ghana initiative is purely voluntary and does not involve any form of state payment.

In an official statement, the Ministry explained that the artiste personally offered his support for the government’s flagship agricultural campaign, using his influence to promote its objectives and showcase success stories within the sector.

According to the Ministry, Okyeame Kwame’s involvement is motivated by patriotism and a strong commitment to national development, rather than any financial incentive. His role is expected to amplify awareness and encourage public participation in the Feed Ghana programme.

The statement further emphasized that under the leadership of Eric Opoku, no public funds have been allocated for this engagement. It stressed that the ambassadorial position comes with no salary, allowance, or financial package.

Officials described the partnership as a positive example of how public figures can contribute voluntarily to national initiatives. They noted that such collaborations are crucial for advancing the goals of the Feed Ghana programme and strengthening efforts to boost agricultural productivity and food security.

The Ministry also encouraged other well-meaning Ghanaians, industry players, and stakeholders to lend their expertise and platforms in support of government programmes aimed at national growth.

The clarification, signed by Media Liaison Officer Samuel Huntor, follows heightened public interest regarding the nature of the appointment and the broader role of celebrities in government campaigns.
