Fire Guts Part of Building Owned by Angel Obinim at Ashaley Botwe

A fire outbreak has partially destroyed a two-storey building at Ashaley Botwe in the Adentan Municipality, reportedly owned by Prophet Daniel Obinim, popularly known as Angel Obinim.

The blaze, which occurred in the mid-morning hours of Thursday, April 9, 2026, is said to have started from the upper section of the building before rapidly spreading to other parts of the structure. The fire caused significant damage to sections of the property, leaving parts of the building charred and structurally affected.

In response to the emergency, the Ghana National Fire Service swiftly deployed three fire tenders from the Adenta, Madina, and University of Ghana fire stations to the scene. Firefighters worked intensively to contain the flames, prevent further destruction, and protect nearby properties from being affected.

Speaking from the scene, Assistant Divisional Officer I (ADOI) Isaac Kwadwo Opoku confirmed that firefighting efforts were ongoing and that personnel were focused on bringing the situation fully under control.

He noted that the cause of the fire remains unknown at this stage. A full investigation will be conducted once the fire has been completely extinguished to determine what triggered the incident.

Fortunately, no casualties have been reported. However, officials indicated that a comprehensive assessment will be carried out to evaluate the extent of damage to the building and any potential structural risks.

The incident adds to growing concerns over fire safety in residential and commercial buildings, as authorities continue to urge the public to adhere to safety regulations and preventive measures.
